Cleansing, Hydrating + Reconstructive

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took trying several lines of Kerastase to happen upon this lightweight yet thoroughly cleansing, hydrating, and reconstructive shampoo, and I haven't strayed from it since the day I tried it. If you have fine hair, you know it can be tricky to find something with all of those traits that don't weigh your hair down or make them seem like you need another shampoo after less than a day. This shampoo somehow manages to deliver everything need to help damaged and dry ends. My hair has never been able to grow so long as when I'm using this product. Also, it's sufficiently hydrating that I skip a shampooing every other time I shower to conserve product. Literally life-changing.

Due to breakage around my face, i wanted to try this shampoo versus the Curl Manifesto shampoo I normally use. This is definitely doing something different to my hair as when I blow dry straight I get volume but my ends look a little wirey and wanting to lay funny. I think I haven't figured out the best way to use this product yet. On days I'm wanting sleek straight hair, I may just focus it on my breakage areas and ends and use my more moisturizing shampoo as my 2nd cleanse (followed by a mask).

A Little Goes A Long Way

Leaves hair extremely dry

This is a very confusing product because it’s supposed to help your extremely damaged hair, yet it makes it feel extremely dry when you finish washing it and very tangled, too. Even while applying it you can feel it’s drying it sooo much. I am not happy at all with it and I am sad I decided to buy this instead of my usual super nourishing shampoo. Also, after only a couple of days you can feel your roots being greasy, which never happened with my nourishing shampoo. I told this to my hairdresser and she recommended to use it only where my hair has been super processed, but not in the roots, and then do a second wash with a nourishing shampoo all over. She also explained that repairing and nourishing are not the same thing, which seemed obvious to me when I bought it. In any case, it seems like a waste of money. I will finish it as I paid quite some money for it and the masque, but definitely won’t be repurchasing.

Cela fait quelques années que je l'utilise. Parfois j'essaie d'autres shampooings soit Kerastase, soit d'autres marques. Mais finalement, c'est le plus adapté pour mes cheveux naturels, gris presque blancs maintenant. Ce que j'aime : le côté lavant non agressif, les cheveux restent doux longtemps, ils ressemblent à de la soie. J'ai souvent des compliments. Le parfum est agréable. Kerastase fait des produits de qualité.

This shampoo is a life saver and the whole line has changed my life. I recommend this to anyone with EXTREMELY damaged hair. This is not for lightly damaged hair. You will excperience weigh down and all the moisture will probably change your hair texture. My hair is naturally curly and was damaged from bleaching from black box dye to bright blonde, then dyed back brown twice bc the first time the stylist made my hair a horrible burgendy color not chocolate brown like i asked...thr blonde process took over a year. Then add all the heat damage. My hair is breaking off and i want to try to salvage my length. First let me say...if you have curly hair...do not go blonde. It will kill your curls and you will have to constantly straighten your hair ending up with crunch fried lengths...not even split ends. I love Kerastate and decided to try the extremely damaged hair line. My hair is so damaged that protien treatments wont work...its past that point. So i did not excpect it to work so quickly. Ive used it twice and my hair is already soooo much more manageable and soft. I use the shampoo and leave it on my hair for 2 mintues, then use the mask. I love the mask but it doesnt act like a conditioner on my hair so i wash the mask out after 15 mintues then use Oribe hair alchemy conditioner, leave it on for 2 mintues and rinse...but if they had a conditioner with this line i would use it. After that i spray my hair with Matrix protien builder, then use the kerastase extreme length and damage serum( smells sooo good and works even better). After, i apply the kerastase damage repair heat protection cream and oribe blow out cream, blow dry on low heat at the roots til 80% dry...then use my revlon blow out brush on LOW...its waaaaay to hot to use on high. It will fry your hair. I probably caused alot of thr damage with that tool using it on wet hair and on hot. Make sure yoir hair is 80% dry. On dry hair i will also apply the serum before bed and wear a bonnet. Then to style while.dry i use Moroccanoil heat protection spray. And then i will use kerastase hair oil, the gold bottle. I also bought a boars hair brush from amazon. This all has saved my hair so far. I have so much more less breakage. I want to put my routine out there for people in my postion that want to try to save their length or are struggling with horrible crunchy damaged hair. I do not recommend this line to people that have fine hair or thin hair. Its really for folks with fried hair. And yes, its all very expensive, but it works for me, so im willing to pay. The line smells very good to me. Its got a fresh clean scent. No musk smell and thats a huge plus for me. I highly recommend this to people with extremely damaged hair that need it to slow down on breaking. If you are considering cutting off yoir hair bc of damage, try this first. It might save your length. Kerastase, thank you so much, you have made me smile again when it comes to my hair and you have given me my confidence back. You have saved my hair life!

Not for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had high hopes for this shampoo but I was disappointed. I do love kerastase products so it doesn’t reflect on them as a brand. I used this twice. Once along with other products and my hair felt a little greasy so I tried this again alone and it was soo greasy after. Like when I was blow drying it still looked wet. I had to get back in the shower and clarify and then used k18 and brought it back to life. I’ll be sticking to the blond absolu. This may work for other hair types for reference I have very fine hair.

Get your hair back

SAVED my hair

The combination of Resistance Bain Therapiste shampoo, Masque Therapiste, and Serum Therapiste SAVED my hair. I later added Ciment Thermique and saw even more improvement. I had previously been dealing with hair loss and brittleness due to a thyroid condition. In addition, aging (I’m 57) and using heat tools had really taken a toll. My hair looked terrible without using at least some heat to dry and straighten a little. I was able to continue using these methods while still getting improvement all thanks to these products. I normally would not buy such expensive products because I’m not convinced there’s usually much difference, but with these I saw proof and have recommended them to others who have commented on how good my hair looks.

Was recommended for damaged hair due to processing and thus did not help. I have fine thin hair and trying to wash with this just made us feel worse. Dry, brittle, could barely brush my hair after. Also I think the smell is terrible. Bought the whole line and was big waste of money.
