My favorite classic shampoo
I've been a Kerastase consumer going on almost 20 years now. If there's 2 things I never skimped on while on a tight budget in my earlier years, it'd be hair products and shoes! I've tried a number of different variations of their shampoos (color treated, volume, etc.) but always end up defaulting back to their classic.
Only reason why this doesn't get 5 stars is both times I've ordered the refill pack, they've forgotten to include the bag in my order...not sure if it's a fulfillment issue more broadly.

Great shampoo!
I’ve using the Bain satin shampoo for years and my hair is so soft and shinning with this product. Whenever I got unstock while I waiting for my replacement my hair feels different, so this is my favorite version!

Formula Changed and for the Worse!
I used this for over 10 years and it’s very clear the formula has changed since I last used it several years ago. The colour of the formula is different and it now leaves hair dry and coated. So disappointing as it was holy grail! Find something else! This isn’t it.

The Absolute Worst Shampoo Ever!
I have been using Kerastase for over 15 years and it has been go to for my thick curly hair. I bought a 500 ml of this shampoo back in January and they must have changed their formula because this shampoo leaves my hair dry and unmanageable. My hair felt like stray and I could barely get my fingers through my hair to add the mask. I am so dissapointed as this used to be my favorite shampoo. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy this shampoo.

Fine, thick hair in need of care: This is it!
I have fine hair that is very thick and long, and is damaged due to bleaching. This shampoo is the only one I will use going forward. Trust me when I say I have tried every product on the market trying to figure out how to treat my hair well, get it clean, not weigh it down, and protect it from dryness and damage. Kerastase products look costly but a little bit goes a long way. Use the shampoo as instructed and you'll be delighted. I use a scalp scrub weekly to remove any janky blockage at the scalp level too.

Build up to a greasy mess

Wonderful

Gone Downhill
I don't know about this any longer. After this company was sold this product went waaaaaayyyy downhill immediately. I have hung on to the memory of the results of the past, when this would make my hair as smooth and soft as silk. I really have to move on, this is not the product it used to be and I have to finally face that reality.

Good results but awful fragrance
Cleans and does not strip hair but the scent leaves something to be desired. I find the scent integral to the experience and this left me disappointed. The scent is best described as mothball/chemical centered. Every other product I have tried including the genesis line, 8h miracle and blowdry lotion have been wonderful. The scent of this shampoo and conditioner is a deal breaker.

Smells Amazing

It makes my hair look and feel gentle. What I love the most about this shampoo is the fact that it completely separates each of my hair strand. It has a milk like with sort of light perfume scent to it. It feels like a luxurious scent but without overpowering my nose. I like the packaging too.

Hands down the best products
This is hands down the BEST shampoo. The entire product line makes my dry, damaged bleached hair so soft. Recently it was really looking fried at the ends even after a fresh cut and I decided to invest again into kerastase after using other so called great shampoos. This is the BEST shampoo for dry hair. I was blown away by using it for the first time, as was my mom. She has drier hair than I do and is picky about her hair products. ;-) Truly recommend this stuff for dry/coarse hair.

Best all-around shampoo
Best all-around shampoo when combined with the lait vital conditioner. I’ve been using this combo since high school (20+ years ago!) and don’t plan on changing it up any time soon. I have mid-length to long brunette (no existing dye) hair that is fine but very thick and can get somewhat wavy when air-drying but for the most part is straight.

Great for fine dry hair
I have used this shampoo for almost 20 years. I have fine dry hair and this shampoo keeps my hair healthy and strong. I find that it is rich enough without a conditioner, however I use the Lait Vital and it adds extra shine and body.

So first off I love this brand, it got introduced to me when I was at a salon. So the first collection I tried was the resistance, I love that collection it really makes a difference in my hair it makes it feel so soft and smooth and before my hair was bleach and dry and I had chunks of hair falling out. This brand really made a difference. I can’t use a lot of brands I am too sensitive and my head gets itchy and dry. But I recently wanted to a new change because my hair is almost all natural so I went with the nutritive. I been using it for a week now I am not a fan of the smell and I don’t feel like it’s making a different in my hair like the resistance was. I have to use the other products I have from them to get the smooth and soft feeling I want. Overall all once I finish this collection I will be going back to the resistance.

Great wash
My hair has never looked better, the texture is great and it foams up really nicely. I went swimming last week and had tons of chlorine in my hair, but washing it out with this shampoo made it perfect again. Would highly recommend, I’d say it’s worth the high price.

One and done - finding your forever shampoo!
I live in the desert and swim daily - this shampoo seriously conditions and leaves my hair smooth and shiny! In addition, I’ve used it for over two years without changing products!

Great shampoo but bad scent
I was recommended this shampoo by my hairdresser along with the Genesis conditioner. I love how my hair looks and feels after using these two products (although it gets a bit greasy the second day) But I was so disappointed with how this smells. It smells like a medicinal shampoo yet the genesis conditioner smells AMAZING. I so wish I would have known how it smelled prior to purchasing it. I wish my hair was left smelling like the conditioner but it smells like the shampoo. I wish you would rerelease this product with a nice scent added but otherwise I think it works well!

Good
Love it when it’s alternated with another shampoo - to be used alone completely every day or every other day, it makes my hair look greasy and oily. However when alternated with any lighter shampoo, it works well :)

My All Time Favorite Shampoo!
I have read about Kérastase for about 20 years and have never lived near a Kérastase salon so I never used it. I went to Kérastase and Since my only real concern is just dry hair I picked this shampoo. The first time I used it my hair was much smoother. I have used only salon products my entire life and I have to say that these products are special. I use this with la Vital or Masqueintense and budget permitting will never use anything else!

Too heavy for my hair
I've been using this for a couple weeks on my curly hair. While it seems moisturizing, it is too heavy for my hair and leaves it weighed down and lifeless.

We can image how disappointing it can be trying a new product and it does not meet your expectations. Bain Satin 2 gently cleanses dry, sensitized hair so hair feel soft and looks shiny. For a lighter feel you may want to try Nutritive Bain Satin 1. Thank you for feedback.
