Masquintense by Kérastase is a deeply nutritive ultra-concentrated hair mask for very dry fine to medium hair. One of the best hair masks for dry, damaged hair, it contains plant-based proteins and niacinamide that boost the formula’s ability to nourish and reinforce the hair.

WHO IS IT FOR?
For fine to medium very dry hair.
IN-SALON PROTOCOL
1 - BACKWASH
- Bathe - Start with the application of Bain or Bain Satin Riche. Apply directly on the scalp. Develop foam & perform the 3 gestures of the Kérastase Massage. Rinse and repeat.
2 - STYLING STATION
- Treat - Go to the styling station to apply the full Nutritive protocol in front of the client. Mix the Nutritive Concentré + Nutrition Booster. Apply Fusio Dose on each strand on lengths and ends. Don't rinse.
3 - BACKWASH
- Treat - Layer Fusio Dose with Masquintense. Take the product with a spoon and put it in a bowl. Apply the mask on lengths & ends with a brush. Massage lengths & ends. Make twists. Leave under the steam without rinsing the product for 10 minutes. Add water & emulsify. Rinse thoroughly.
4 - STYLING STATION
- Care - On towel-dried hair, moisturize scalp with Nutri-Supplement Scalp Serum. Take 1 pipette until the mark. Apply 2 to 4 doses regarding hair thickeness section by section. Massage gently. Do not rinse.
- Protect - Hair against heat with Lotion Thermique Sublimatrice or Nectar Thermique. Put a small amount of the product in you hand. Apply section by section throughout lenghts. Don't rinse. Blowdry.
- Finish - The hair style with the Nutri-Supplement Dry Ends Serum. Show to the client how to use. Take 1 to 2 drops in the palm of the hand. Spread into both hands. Apply on lengths & ends.

New formulation makes hair greasy
This new formulation is literally unusable. I've been using Masquintense for about 20+ years and it was my favorite hair product on earth. I have medium weight long hair. I purchased two tubs of the new formation, thinking the first was a fluke. It wasn't. The product now makes my hair greasy even when using just a little bit and thoroughly rinsing with hot water. Sadly, I've disposed of the products. A huge waste of money and an enormous disappointment. I've switched from using my beloved mask to another brand. Please bring the original formula back!!

Formula change not appreciated
I've used the former masquintense for fine hair for many, many years. It was amazing and didn't weigh down my fine, thin hair. This new formulation is now unusable and simply bears no resemblance to the old fine hair formula. The new formula leaves my hair coated, heavy and dirty-looking, and greasy-feeling--so much so that it renders this product not usable, despite thorough and careful rinsing. The change in the ingredient list shows now the addition of dimethicone near the top of the ingredient list, a heavier silicone that is probably the culprit; it has this effect in other products I've tried. Although there are a few other other Kerastase conditioners that I can switch to for now, the switch is an hard one for me because the old formula was my go-to of perfection for so long.

So disappointed in this product...
I ordered this to replace the Fondant Magistral conditioner that been apparently been discontinued, but why?!?!? I called Kerastase and was informed this was closest replacement. First of all, it does not have same results, the Fondant Magistral was like a transformation once I started using, totally improved texture of my dull, dry hair. This was just so-so, definitely not worth the price tag. But the worst thing about it is the smell, It smells like old expired perfume from my grandmother's cabinet, truly awful. At this price point I would expect so much better. Such a disappointment. Sadly I will just have to shop for a new brand.

Feels like a break up
I tried the new formula and am so disappointed. I’ve used Masquintense Fine exclusively since 2004. The new formula leaves my hair feeling weighed down, sticky, and it has no movement. Sending this review as a plead to please bring back the prior version. After 20 years, I don’t even know where to start to find a new product to use. This has always been my holy grail…so good I wouldn’t even consider trying anything else. Now, I can’t bring myself to buy this again.

Masquintense hair mask
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new formula works so great on my wavy, curly thick hair! It calms it down just like when you go to get your hair done professionally! I don't normally blow it out, but it does not take much for me to comment down not a lot of work. My hair feels shiny and healthy and free of tangles! Tangles were a problem before, because my hair is very long and curly… It's a keeper! Love the new formula.

Love it!
I have a lot of hair but it is fine and this conditioner works great. I like it is plant based also. Sometimes I put it on with a shower cap and heated cap. My hair comes out super slick. It also does not leave my hair greasy and I can go for a couple days without washes.

Highly recommend

Hair Feels Heavy
This hair product leaves my hair heavy, looks dirty and does not feel clean. It is so hard when it is so expensive and can hardly use it. I am use to Kerastase products leaving my hair manageable and looking good.

Good mask
Very nice but not enough for my hair. Wound up buying chronologiste which is more thick and emollient but this one is very moisturizing just not enough for me. Maybe I should have bought the riche but I have fine hair. It’s thick but fine strands..
