WHAT IS IT?
Masquintense by Kérastase is a deeply nutritive ultra-concentrated hair mask for very dry fine to medium hair. One of the best hair masks for dry, damaged hair, it contains plant-based proteins and niacinamide that boost the formula’s ability to nourish and reinforce the hair.

WHO IS IT FOR?
For fine to medium very dry hair.
IN-SALON PROTOCOL
1 - BACKWASH
- Bathe - Start with the application of Bain or Bain Satin Riche. Apply directly on the scalp. Develop foam & perform the 3 gestures of the Kérastase Massage. Rinse and repeat.
2 - STYLING STATION
- Treat - Go to the styling station to apply the full Nutritive protocol in front of the client. Mix the Nutritive Concentré + Nutrition Booster. Apply Fusio Dose on each strand on lengths and ends. Don't rinse.
3 - BACKWASH
- Treat - Layer Fusio Dose with Masquintense. Take the product with a spoon and put it in a bowl. Apply the mask on lengths & ends with a brush. Massage lengths & ends. Make twists. Leave under the steam without rinsing the product for 10 minutes. Add water & emulsify. Rinse thoroughly.
4 - STYLING STATION
- Care - On towel-dried hair, moisturize scalp with Nutri-Supplement Scalp Serum. Take 1 pipette until the mark. Apply 2 to 4 doses regarding hair thickeness section by section. Massage gently. Do not rinse.
- Protect - Hair against heat with Lotion Thermique Sublimatrice or Nectar Thermique. Put a small amount of the product in you hand. Apply section by section throughout lenghts. Don't rinse. Blowdry.
- Finish - The hair style with the Nutri-Supplement Dry Ends Serum. Show to the client how to use. Take 1 to 2 drops in the palm of the hand. Spread into both hands. Apply on lengths & ends.

Formula change not appreciated
I've used the former masquintense for fine hair for many, many years. It was amazing and didn't weigh down my fine, thin hair. This new formulation is now unusable and simply bears no resemblance to the old fine hair formula. The new formula leaves my hair coated, heavy and dirty-looking, and greasy-feeling--so much so that it renders this product not usable, despite thorough and careful rinsing. The change in the ingredient list shows now the addition of dimethicone near the top of the ingredient list, a heavier silicone that is probably the culprit; it has this effect in other products I've tried. Although there are a few other other Kerastase conditioners that I can switch to for now, the switch is an hard one for me because the old formula was my go-to of perfection for so long.

So disappointed in this product...
I ordered this to replace the Fondant Magistral conditioner that been apparently been discontinued, but why?!?!? I called Kerastase and was informed this was closest replacement. First of all, it does not have same results, the Fondant Magistral was like a transformation once I started using, totally improved texture of my dull, dry hair. This was just so-so, definitely not worth the price tag. But the worst thing about it is the smell, It smells like old expired perfume from my grandmother's cabinet, truly awful. At this price point I would expect so much better. Such a disappointment. Sadly I will just have to shop for a new brand.

Feels like a break up
I tried the new formula and am so disappointed. I’ve used Masquintense Fine exclusively since 2004. The new formula leaves my hair feeling weighed down, sticky, and it has no movement. Sending this review as a plead to please bring back the prior version. After 20 years, I don’t even know where to start to find a new product to use. This has always been my holy grail…so good I wouldn’t even consider trying anything else. Now, I can’t bring myself to buy this again.

I have a lot of hair but it is fine and this conditioner works great. I like it is plant based also. Sometimes I put it on with a shower cap and heated cap. My hair comes out super slick. It also does not leave my hair greasy and I can go for a couple days without washes.

Amazing Hair Mask!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It leaves my hair super soft! After blow drying it, my hair is flowy, shiny and silky. It didn’t help with my frizziness, but I also live in a humid environment, so no product has been able to beat it. I recommend it!!

A great deep hair mask…
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I want to love this product so bad. I can say good things about it like it makes my hair feel clean, shiny, and soft. It has good ingredients. My biggest problem with this product was the smell. It smell like something an older woman might like. Very hard to describe but not what I personally would like my hair to smell like.

Love of Nutritive

Nice Product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Masquintense Hair Mask 200ml was a great trial. The bottle was cute and fit in my hand easily. It was easily dispensed and had a thick consistency, which made me feel like my hair got fully saturated with each use.
It wasn't my favorite scent, if I'm being completely honest, but if you like tea tree type scents, you may love this one.
I enjoyed using this one and feel like it did what it claimed.

As I get older my hair has lost its luster and constant blow drying etc have left it dry and dull. I use this product once a week and it’s helped my hair bounce back and look healthier. So glad my hair stylist recommended Kerastase.

Instant Hair Repair

I have struggled with dry hair for a while now because I do bleach my hair. But using this hair mask made my hair feel like literal silk. I don't know what kind of magic they're putting in this hair mask but they can take all of my money from now because I will be repurchasing.

Dry hair relief!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Masquintense Hair Mask for several weeks, usually once or twice a week. My hair is very fine and I can't use products that are too heavy. I have been using this after the Bain Satin Shampoo, I focus on my ends and try not to put any on my roots or it's too heavy for my fine hair. It works great as long as I rinse very well. My hair feels so soft between washes and the summer humidity isn't causing as much frizz as normal.

I've searched for this product my whole entire life & I thankful I've found it!! It's worth it's weight in gold! You don't have to use a lot to get the benefits of it. So the jar should last a while depending on how long your is & how often you use it. It also smells really good!

Great mask for dry/damaged hair

I think this is a great product for anyone who has dry or damaged hair. My only downfall is the packaging. Would definitely recommend and use again.
