My hair looks less frizzy than normal even after air drying. I do not notice that this helps with volume at all. It’s a bit pricey for the amount of product you get but I would possibly repurchase because it really is a great product.

Lightweight and smells nice!

At first use, I thought the scent was too strong, and would be overpowering. But after my hair was dried, it left a nice light scent to my hair. I love how lightweight the product is. It didn’t weigh my hair down or leave any residue. After application, it was easy to comb and work through to my roots. I have fine, color treated hair and I’m prone to breakage, so I’m hoping for some great results. After only a few uses, it’s too early to tell how much it’s strengthening my hair. I will keep using for the recommended 28 days in hopes that I see a big difference in hair breakage.

Shiny and soft hair in one use!

Stronger looking hair

I use a leave in product either after a shower or before bed and was excited to try this spray. I have been using it for several weeks and am very happy with it. Allergic to it

Not my thing

I have thin, wavy hair and it weighed down my hair and made it greasy by the end of the day. It always leaves this weird sticky residue if you don't blow dry with heat then hit your hair with cold air. I'm probably going to give this away, it was fun to try something new though!

Really helpful with breakage

Heat Styling Hero

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have type 4 hair with thicker medium & coarse strands so traditionally I don't gravitate towards spray leave ins. So while using Shu Uemura's Rice Water treatment I wasn't optimistic that it'd be personally enough for my hair type. The spray doesn't mist over a larger surface area like I'd prefer so I just alternated using my hands. It's watery and dried easily on my hair. I did get more stronger strands and great shine but I prefer for everyday leave ins to be more nourishing. So I used this when I'd apply heat and it was best suited in that routine. But that hard unbalanced feeling lingered in my hair and I can be protein sensitive so I'd use this occasionally. Like with seasonal heat styling.

I have used this rice water treatment for about a week and noticed that my hair looks and feels better than before. My hair looks healthier, shinier and has more volume. The product leaves a nice scent that lasts and I also love how easy it is to use this product - just wash and towel dry your hair and spray and massage the rice water treatment all over hair and then blow dry. Nice scent, but I didn't see any textural hair improvements

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm always hoping to find a new holy Grail product for my hair, and have heard people talk about rinsing their hair with rice water to improve the texture, so was excited to try to this Shu Uemura strengthening tonic. After sampling it, I don't think it's for me, but maybe it would be more beneficial for a different hair type. I liberally spray my hair with it after towel drying for 2 weeks. The treatment has a nice light scent, faintly clean powdery - distant memories of Loves Babysoft spray, if you know what that smelled like. I didn't notice any improvement after 2 weeks of use, and feel like the ends of my hair aren't as soft as they are when I used one of my other typical leave in hair products. The hair near my scalp feels dirtier more quickly, and makes me want to wash my hair one day sooner than I otherwise would. I can't say for certain that the tonic treatment isn't making my hair strands stronger in the long run, but as far as day to day texture and appearance goes, this product was a miss for me.

I've been wanting to try ice water for a long time and this product came in at the right one. Kept hair moisturized for a bit but I'm not sure if it's for a hair type long term.

My hair is still frizzy in appearance and doesn't feel any softer. It also smells like baby powder and nursing homes.

Really Helps With Colored Hair!

It is so easy yo ise but I get somewhat the same result when I go to a salon. Perfect strengthening hair water treatment for bleached hair

After trying this for 2 weeks, I can't believe I see the result that obvious. This strengthening rice water treatment is perfect for my treated hair (I bleached and colored my hair frequently) and my hair is a little bit damaged. I have a very careful hair care routine but never found a product this magical. My hair never felt this strong and shining before since I treated my hair for the first time. Also it smells so good, long lasting scent, like a luxury perfume. I recommended this for all my friends and family. Love it!

Make sure to pair with A moisturizing leave in conditioner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is a treatment, not a conditioning product so make sure you use a leave conditioner as well when I get out of the shower and towel dry my hair. I first spray this into my hair and then use my leave and conditioner and shine smooth and products it's important with a protein Treatment to pair it with a moisturizing treatment or else it can damage your hair. Only bad thing I would say about this product. I'm not crazy about the smell it has. It's not great, but it's hidden after I put in my other products.

A wonderful leave in treatment for fine hair!

For reference I have ultra fine, wavy, hair with highlights/balayage and currently live in a humid area on the coast. I've used the strengthening tonic 3 times after washing my hair since receiving 1.5 weeks. I observed that my hair was easier to detangle and style immediately upon first use. It didn't feel sticky after applying it on damp hair and did not leave a residue or weigh down my hair once it was dry. Once styled, I observed that my hair appeared shinier and less frizzy than usual. I was also pleasantly surprised that the tonic did not make my hair fall flat or look greasier on days 2 or 3 post-wash which is the case for the majority of leave in treatments. After multiple uses I've observed an increase in shine and noticed less breakage and shedding in the course of styling my hair. I would absolutely recommend this strengthening tonic to anyone with fine hair!

After I use it after drying my hair for a while, the strength is visibly improved. The hair strands become softer, smoother, and more elastic. My split ends are also relatively improved. As a woman who has spent much of her life trying to get my fine hair to look fuller while combatting breakage I was really excited to try this leave-in tonic. And since I've been seeing a variety of rice water products recently, I didn't want to get left behind. Why rice water? Rice extract contains a variety of vitamins and nutrients that protect and restore damaged hair cells. The scent is delicate and light, with hints of citrus and a woodsy (faintly musk) fragrance. Simply spritz it onto clean damp hair starting at the the scalp and working down to the tips then massage in. Finally, dry and style your hair as you normally would. My hair feels light and soft and dries with less frizz and more body.

Made my hair feel thicker

This has the best smell of any hair product. I've personally used at home every time I spray it when I get out of the shower I feel like I'm walking out of salon. I have fried / damaged Hair, So this has been a game changer for me.
