I have long, very processed hair and I can't wash my hair very often. When I do I need deep cleansing that is still gentle to my hair. This is the first and only deep cleanser that doesn't leave my hair brittle or looking dull, and it also smells amazing.

Drying too much

I was looking forward to trying this out but unfortunately it feels more like a clarifying shampoo. It left my hair feeling clean, but it just also ripped out all the oils and left it super dry. I would recommend this if you have very oily hair

Great shampoo overall

I really preferred the old Onsen product line but this one works well too. My hair feels soft and is shiny afterward. Try this one first if you’re unsure about which product Iu e to use.

I have been looking for a shampoo to replace purelogy’s shampoo for colored hair and this is it! The minimal fragrance is refreshing and calming, not too strong, and just lasts while showering. A little goes a long way. My hair has never felt more luxurious even without a hair mask, I cannot stop touching my hair because of how much life it has gotten, it is so soft. I love it so much that I bought another for a friend for Christmas.

Great Product

The Shuemura Gental Radiance Deep Cleanser has done a fantastic job of thoroughly cleaning my scalp and hair. cheaper products are better

I was excited to receive this deep cleanser shampoo because I tend to get product build-up and I like to alternate regular shampoos with a product like this. I love the scent of this - it's citrusy and fresh, but it's very subtle. However, I don't feel like this product got rid of build-up as well as some other products I've used. I also hate the pump on this bottle (aka all Shu Uemura bottles) - you have to pump a lot to get enough product. If the brand and scent are important to you, I would go for it. But I definitely prefer other products that I can get at a much better price.

Clarifies without drying hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Normally clarifying shampoos tend to be a bit too harsh and drying on my hair, so I wasn't sure if I would be a fan of this Gentle Radiance Deep Cleanser or not. But the thing is, it truly is gentle and gives a deep cleanse without stripping or drying the hair at all whatsoever. I absolutely love the fragrance and how wonderfully the shampoo lathered in my hair. It definitely left my hair feeling squeaky clean, but also soft and hydrated which was a pleasant surprise! I've been using it once a week to help remove any product buildup and it's worked beautifully thus far! It also isn't drying or irritating to my scalp, which is huge as well.

Double Shampoo Friendly

Less drying clarification

Cleans deeply and smells so good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shampoo smells so good! I can't quite put my finger on what the fragrance is, but it's green and floral. It cleanses hair well and gives a squeaky-clean finish (note that it does contain sulfates), so I use this every 2-3 washes as a clarifying shampoo rather than at every wash. My only complaint is that the formula is surprisingly thick, so it can be hard to push the pump down to dispense it!

Just a perfect cleansing shampoo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my free full size sample of Shu Uemura Gentle Radiance Deep Cleanser and my entire family absolutely loves it! It's got a thick consistency that lathers really well, the scent is a perfect light unisex scent. At first I was really annoyed because only a little comes out when you pump but then discovered that a little goes a long way. I sectioned my hair for a more even distribution. This shampoo did not strip my hair at all. It feels light and clean and looks super healthy after showering. The only suggestion I have is that I'd like for the pump to be a little longer so that I have enough space to pump before hitting my fingers on the edge of the bottle.

Excelent Lightweight shampoo

I thought my hair would still be very dry and damaged like others have done. Well, to my surprise, the results left me amazed. My hair felt very clean and not dry whatsoever. My scalp feels like it can breathe for the first time. No more flakes on my shirts (thankfully). Good cleanser

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice deep cleansing clarifying shampoo. It feels like it strips away build up and oil good. It does leave my hair tangly after I use it but after I use a conditioner and some hydrating hair products my hair is less tangled and soft feeling. It doesn't leave my hair shiny or soft really… but knowing it is a deep cleanser it kind of makes sense. The scent is nice and light. Overall a good product but a little too expensive in my opinion. I think it might be better on darker hair, my hair is light blonde and I have highlights so I feel like I need a little more from a product that won't leave my hair feeling tangled, dry and whatnot.

Loving it so far!

After I dried my hair, I realized how clean my scalp really felt. I only wash my hair twice a week so my scalp doesn't always feel super super clean when I do wash it. I feel like my scalp feels as clean as when my hairstylist washes it for me. I also liked that the shampoo suds a little. I find that a lot of them do not get sudsy and therefore feels like the need to use more. I also don't mind the scent of this. It wasn't my favorite, but not bad!

Most are harsh and stripping, while this product made my hair super clean but also soft! Although on first appearance the price is high, I can attest that 1) it is a large bottle with a pump and it will last a long time, and 2) it is a *treat* for your hair. Good but not great

Apart from the lather not being so much, it doesn't leave your hair and scalp feeling very cleaned. If you get it to lather a lot using a good amount of product you do feel soothing and well-cleaned. The smell is amazing and the bottle looks sleek and of high quality.

Tackles teenage greasy hair with ease!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use multiple styling products on my curly hair which can lead to build up. This shampoo deep cleans my scalp without stripping precious moisture from my hair. I was happy with it, but I wanted to really put it to the test. I have a teenager going through puberty. They struggle with getting the hair sufficiently clean, and feel like sometimes it feels worse than before shampooing. Greasy, limp hair from root to mid shaft. Poor thing. Mom and Shu Uemura to the rescue! I helped shampoo with a few pumps of Gentle Radiance and rinsed. Rinse and repeat, as it goes, and BAM! The second shampooing was the ticket! The shampoo foamed up really well as it cut through the remaining build up. After rinsing we conditioned as usual. This shampoo now lives in the kids' bathroom. Your kids deserve good haircare, too! Being a teen is tough enough as it is, and now we have one less thing to be concerned with. I hope you give this a try if you or your family struggle with oily hair and build up.

Squeaky Clean Hair

I saw this deep cleansing shampoo and thought that maybe it would cleanse any product build-up from the other products off my scalp and hair - and I was right! It was super gentle, too. I also really like the design of the bottle. It's transparent, so I can see how much product I have left and the design is very minimalistic. I have been using this once a week, alternating with other products, and my hair and scalp are feeling much better.

I am someone who tends to use dry shampoo in between washes so i was looking for something that would help get rid of all that build up. This does just that. my hair and scalp feel super clean after using this and I've noticed my scalp being less oily in between washes. Highly recommend.

Liked it but not for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shampoo is unfortunately not a great fit for me. I have dry, frizzy, wavy thick hair. This shampoo was a bit too cleansing for me. The smell was lovely and j like the look of the bottle. But in reality I would only be able to use this shampoo maybe once a week or even once every other week.

Would not Recommend for Color Treated Hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this product only one time and and only once because it stipped some of my permeate professional done hair color out. The bottle should have a disclaimer on it about not using on color treated hair. And it also made my hair feel really dry even after conditioner.

It leaves my hair and scalp feeling squeaky clean without stripping it. My hair is smooth and shiny while still retaining moisture! I also love that it comes in a pump bottle so I use the right amount every time without any waste.

Great clean feeling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have become a big fan of this shampoo after using it for a week or so. We have awful well water in the house we're renting and my hair hasn't felt clean in such a long time, but now it does after using this cleansing shampoo! I get a soft, clean feeling in the shower and I don't feel like my hair is as dried out as it was before. I will say as one suggestion, the pump itself is pretty short and doesn't push out much shampoo when being used, so I would have to pump it 5 or 6 times so get enough shampoo out to wash my long hair.

Perfect for product build-up

Best Gentle Deep Cleansing Shampoo!

It gives your hair this squeaky clean feeling and does not dry your hair out. I also love very soft and sweet smell that lingers through out the day after using this shampoo! Squeaky clean scalp

Smells heavenly and cleans wonderfully

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first time I have tried anything from the Shu Uemura line of products. I have to say it is extremely top quality! This definitely cleans your hair of any product buildup and leaves it feeling fresh and clean. It does not dry your hair out either, which is a huge bonus for me. I have wavy hair and it's sometimes a struggle to find something that doesn't steal all the moisture in my hair. I didn't have that issue with this at all. The scent is heavenly. Everytime I have used the shampoo I take a deep breath to enjoy the smell for a few minutes. You know how when you go to the hair salon and they use products that always smell lovely and expensive, that's the kind of smell this has. I do want to mention to be careful if you have colored hair. I have the underside of my hair bleached and I dye it at home a bright pink color that does wash away over time. This did strip more color from my hair but that's okay because I do it myself at home so I can easily color it again. Overall I LOVE this cleanser. I highly recommend it.
