Not the right product for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried the Kérastase shampoo and conditioner. The scent is light, fragrant, and very pleasant, one of the things I enjoyed most about the products. However, the packaging is a bit frustrating. The caps detach, which makes them annoying to use in the shower, and water tends to get inside the bottles. On top of that, I’ve noticed that the formula seems to be drying out my hair rather than leaving it soft and hydrated. Overall, while the fragrance is lovely, the packaging design and the way it leaves my hair feeling make it less than ideal for me.

Good conditioner!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This conditioner smells amazing but I knocked off a star because I feel like it isn’t hydrating enough for my hair. I have very fine, thick hair that will frizz like crazy so I need a lot of moisture to keep it in check! I’m not a fan of the screw cap over an attached cap but it isn’t a big deal. Overall a good conditioner, just not quite enough for my hair!

Great everyday conditioner

However, I'm glad I pushed through because after the 3rd or 4th time using it, it now consistently makes my hair soft and shiny. I have straight, color treated hair. The packaging is a little clunky but it looks nice.

Almost perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I almost really love this conditioner. It smells a little bit floral, complimentary to the slight grapefruit scent the shampoo has, but not in a strong way. It is decently conditioning but it isn't super heavy which is really nice. It does seem to make my hair feel stronger and less prone to breakage. My one big complaint, which isn't major but it's definitely annoying, is the packaging. It has a screw off top! I do not want to have to completely remove the lid to get any product out. I know that seems kind of ridiculous to complain about, but it is a complaint nonetheless. Otherwise the product is good and I do recommend it.

This whole product line needs serious help!

I purchased all the Genesis products, and have not been impressed by any of them. I won't be buying any of them again. They smell weird, and they don't work especially well.

Lathers very well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the shampoo and conditioner, complementary for my honest review of the products. The scent is very nice and floral and the shampoo lather is very well. However, my hair felt dry after using the shampoo and needed the conditioner to make my hair softer. While the shampoo lathers extremely well, I don’t believe the high price tag for these items is worth it. I often pay higher amounts for items that I feel work well, however, this will not be one of them.

Great conditioner for damaged hair

The scent is incredible and lasts in your hair all day, it is super lightweight and does not weigh my hair down. I’ve noticed less shedding and breakage after using it consistently for a week. I use it with the shampoo and make sure I squeeze excess water in my hair before applying.

Hydrating conditioner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really nice conditioner honestly. It seems to have helped repair some of the damage to my ends after being in the sun all summer. It leaves my hair looking a bit less dull and with a natural shine and it doesn’t make my hair. I prefer florally scented hair products (even though I know added fragrance probably isn’t the best for us in the long run) and so this scent is not my favorite but it definitely isn’t unpleasant. I find the scent of this conditioner to be fairly standard amongst higher end shampoos and conditioners. So while it may not give your hair a scent that someone will be lusting over, it has improved the overall health of my hair.

Frosting on the Conditioner Cake

Honestly, I'm used to needing half a bottle to cover all my hair thoroughly, but with the Karatase Fondant conditioner, I only use about a quarter dollop. It sinks in quickly, but has amazing coverage amd unequal hydration! Bonus points for the luxurious scent. I could smell my tresses all day and it was heavenly!

Love this so much!

Second, it almost feels like a clarifying shampoo. When I use it, my hair feels like it does when I use my detox shampoo- very clean but not drying or brittle. This is the only shampoo that truly keeps my hair clean until my next wash (every 3 days). Usually I'm super greasy on the 3rd day but for the past month, I almost forget it's wash day because my hair doesn't look greasy at all. The conditioner makes my hair feel so hydrated and smooth but not at all heavy.

Very nourishing.

Decent Conditioner

Compared to my usual brands that I use being Oribe and Virtue, I can’t say it will be replacing either brand. It smells good though! I have fine hair that breaks easily. Not Hair Friendly

Strength in a Bottle!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been pairing the Kérastase Genesis Fondant Renforçateur Conditioner with the Hydra-Fortifiant Shampoo, and this combo has been a lifesaver for my menopausal hair. My hair has become drier, thinner, and more prone to breakage lately—and this conditioner really delivers on both moisture and strength. The texture is lightweight but super nourishing. It doesn’t weigh my hair down (which is great for finer hair like mine), but still leaves it feeling soft, smooth, and easier to detangle. I noticed that my hair looks healthier and less frizzy after just a couple of uses. What really stands out is how much stronger my hair feels overall. I’ve had significantly less hair coming out when I brush or shower, which is such a relief. Plus, it smells just as amazing as the shampoo—like a luxe salon treatment every time. I’ve been a devoted OlaPlex fan for several years now, but have gotten so frustrated with their packaging that I finally decided to leave them for Kerastase. The packaging is better, I will be able to get all of the product out. I’m not crazy about the screw off tops though, that can be challenging with wet hands in the shower, chasing down a top that’s fallen out of your hands. That would be my biggest suggestion is that the top not screw completely off but stay attached to the bottle. It’s definitely a premium product, but if you’re going through hormonal changes and your hair is starting to show it, this is absolutely worth the splurge. I’d recommend it to anyone dealing with dry, weakened hair from menopause or stress.

New user of your Shampoo and Conditioner

I like the silky feel of my hair after using However my hair somewhat is tangled and has knots after shampooing and conditioning my hair and I have to use de-tangled spray before I can brush my hair. I thought for the price I would not have tangles and knots in my hair. My previous Conditioner did not leaves tangles or knots in my hair.

Chemical smell, conditions fine

Ive used it for a few weeks now and have not experienced either. I haven't noticed any improvement or problems. What I don't like is the scent and the container. I feel it has a very strong chemical smell I don't like at all. One of the most unpleasant smelling shampoos I've ever used. The container is cumbersome to open everytime.

My new fave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This conditioner is fantastic. I have really thin hair, so I find a lot of conditioners weigh down my hair, or leave it feeling greasy. This conditioner does not do that at all. It makes my hair easy to brush through, while feeling light and silky. The lid is a little difficult, since it’s a screw top. But that doesn’t stop me from loving this product. I will be buying a lot more of this!

A great conditioner that prevents breakage!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Kerastase Fondant Conditioner is great for my hair. My hair is on the fragile side and this has helped so much. I love that it's fortifying and helps prevent breakage. I concentrate on the ends and let it set for three to four minutes. Then I rinse it out with cool water. My hair is also so much shinier. It smells great but it's not too strong. I just went on vacation and carried it with me. The shampoo and conditioner bottles are somewhat compact and easy to pack. I'm in love!

The Most Phenomenal Fortifying Hair Conditioner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you so very much, Kerastase and Influenster, for allowing me to test out the Kerastase Genesis Fondant Renforçateur Conditioner in trade for my honest feedback and review. I am crazy about Kerastase. I had never tried the Genesis line before, so this served as an exciting opportunity. Genesis is fortifying and helps hair that is prone to breakage. I found it to be perfect for my blonde locks. It added a gentle strength without causing breakage or damage. After trying this conditioner for a week or so, my hair felt consistently soft and strong after using this product. It did not weigh my hair down. I will happily continue to use this Genesis conditioner in conjunction with the Genesis Bain Hydra-Fortifiant Shampoo. I will likely interchange these products frequently with some from Kerastase's Nutritive line to ensure I am maintaining the proper balance of protein and moisture in my hair. I would like to try the Genesis Strengthening Masque, too. I'm all in on Kerastase. I totally recommend this phenomenally fortifying conditioner.

The texture is lightweight—no heavy coating or waxy feel—yet somehow my hair feels stronger and smoother after rinsing. I noticed way less breakage when brushing, which for me is huge because I shed like a golden retriever in summer. The scent is soft and luxurious, very “salon,” but not overwhelming. It detangles well, adds a healthy shine, and doesn’t weigh down my fine hair. It’s not a miracle cure for hair loss (and they’re upfront about that), but if your main issue is breakage and dullness, this conditioner really does what it promises.

Great product, lose the fragrance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been searching for a great shampoo and conditioner for ages…I’ve tried sooo many. Finally I found some I love! But I wish they weren’t so expensive, and more than that, I wish the fragrance was different or non-existent. I prefer more subtle, natural, botanical scents and nearly all of the Kerastase products smell like really bad perfume. It’s almost enough to put you off of using them again. I’ve been looking for an alternative because of that issue but so far I haven’t found anything that makes my hair feel as good as this does and go as long between wash days. I began using this because I was thinning at the temple and shedding more than usual. It’s pretty incredible how little hair I lose in the shower now compared to before and I have to attribute it to this shampoo/conditioner set because that’s all I’ve changed. I haven’t seen a huge difference at my temple but I’ll give it more time. But please, Kerastase, lose the fragrance!!

It tells you to towel dry your hair, but you can honestly wring it out the moisture, not re-wet it, and use it in the shower for the same effect. Little goes a long way so it will save you money as you smother it on your hair thoroughly. The packaging is knit tight so it’s so good for travel! Love this product!

Super soft hair!

Perfume scent

The smell is nice, but too much like floral perfume for my taste. Trying to screw the cap on and off with conditioner on my hand was really annoying though. More clarifying than fortifying

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This conditioner states that it is for fortifying dull, weak hair prone to breakage.,and can be for daily use, however, It goes on and feels more like a clarifying conditioner. Although it has a thick application when applied, it feels more like it bonds to your hair more than regular conditioners to leave your hair moisturized and clean, rather than soft and/or greasy.. Left my hair clean and shiny. I also found that my blowout stayed fresh for loner without too much dry shampoo. One con: If strong perfumery scents aren’t your thing this might not be for you. I liked it though.

Made my hair smooth, sleek, and easy to style!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was surprised by how much I liked this conditioner! I have fine but dense wavy highlighted hair and use (gentle?) heat tools like the Shark FlexStyle regularly, and this conditioner did a nice job of replenishing my hair without weighing it down. First, the scent: I liked the musky, floral smell, but I can see how it would be polarizing. To me it was very 90s in a good way, so I’m a fan. The Kerastase shampoo from the same line was VERY cleansing, and I was worried the conditioner wouldn’t be enough to replenish my (recently highlighted) hair. However, a little went a long way, and once I worked it in to my hair and let it sit I was really impressed. My hair felt silky but full after a rinse. I applied my usual post-shower products afterward and let it air dry for a bit before finishing with a blow dry and was surprised at how smooth and sleek my hair looked afterward; shiny without looking weighed down or weird, and easy to style without looking fried. All in all, I like this conditioner much more than I thought I would and would recommend it!

Silky smooth crème

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product feels luxurious. Once you wring out your hair post shampoo work this thick crème into your ends and work your way up. Don’t be tempted to slather a handful on, start with a quarter size amount and see how far you get. After a few minutes for it to do its magic give a thorough rinse - your hair will feel like it is one thick silky unit as the water runs through. So sleek and healthy feeling. And my wet brush glided through my damp hair without a tangle in sight. Love it!

Straw-like finish

My hair is fine and bleached that is damaged and prone to frizz and breakage. I used a generous amount and while it felt silky smooth in the shower, that changed after rinsing it out. My hair felt straw like and no amount of leave in conditioner could revive it. My hair seemed more voluminous, but that’s not what I was going for. Unfortunately this is a hard pass!

Great product, minor flaws

I can rave about its effectiveness in reducing hair fall and breakage, particularly due to brushing. I have noticed significantly less hair on my brush and in the shower after using the conditioner regularly. The conditioner actively strengthens my fragile hair.
