It gives the hair smoother and glossy finish. I don't.style my.hair without applying it first to make sure my hair is safe from damage caused by frequent styling and blow drying.

Effective heat protectant that combats frizz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought this spray was very effective at protecting my hair from heat — I blow dry my hair every night and I feel like this was a very effective product in insulating my hair from heat and damage. My hair was noticeably less frizzy after use. I’m not sure I’ve used it enough to gauge whether or not it’s been strengthening my hair, but overall I love the milky texture and subtle scent, and find the heat protectant capability very effective.

Smells like a professional salon

Very nice product

The scent is nice and the texture is light so it doesn’t weigh down my hair. You don’t need alot so it will last you a long time so it’s definitely worth every penny. Leave In with Heat Protection

I love the light scent and the fact that I can just spray it on as a leave-in conditioner without weighing my hair down. Solid heat protectant for wet hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to try this product a good amount of times before making my review. TLDR: this is a solid heat protectant. Background: I have thick, long undyed hair. My scalp tends to be on the oilier side and I have to wash my hair 4x/week because of that and my workout schedule. The good: this heat protectant is great when drying my hair when wet or damp. My hair comes out feeling light, bouncy, and shiny. The scent is not overwhelming Where I noticed I don’t absolutely love the end product is when I’m styling my hair when it’s already dry. I feel like my oiliness is accentuated and even made a little worse and i have to end up using dry shampoo So bottom line, if you have oily hair, this product is great when styling your hair from wet/damp, but you may want to look for another option if you often style your hair from dry.

Not so great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the smell and the bottle, absolutely obsessed with both. Having used Kerastase before I had great hopes this product would be as amazing as it seems. Unfortunately, I’ve seen better results for a fraction of the price. Yes it gets the job done and makes your hair smell amazing but It feels very dry, I can’t imagine how it would help already damaged hair being so drying, this being said, it absolutely does not help reduce frizz. I have thick long wavy hair and it just didn’t do what it was supposed to for me. Now it says it’s for damaged hair and my hair is very healthy but even then if it didn’t do it for me i don’t think it would help anyone’s actually damaged and brittle hair. Can’t say I’d reach for this in my hair routine, it’s just not giving the results it should and especially not for the price it’s selling for.

Better than my usual protectant

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My staple heat protectant isn’t in this type of spray, so I was very curious to try this product that was sent to me for review purposes. I frequently see this on TikTok, to make it short I am now adding a new staple product to my rotation. The price range is fine by me, I don’t mind spending on products that I think are worth it. This is worth it. I can actually tell a difference in heat protectant vs the other product I use. I’m seeing less damage on my tips. Usually when I use heat every single day for like a month, my tips(only the tips) feel a bit crunchy. Once I give them some love and rest, back to normal. I haven’t felt that same crunchiness since using this new product. Another plus..I am sensitive to smells, however this product smells delicious and actually covers up the smell of no wash days lol. I can understand the hype now. I’m glad I was able to try it before purchasing myself.

Soft and nourished hair

All in one protection

It’s not as thin as I would prefer for a product that had a spray nozzle, so I do spray it into my hands before distributing through my hair. Smooth Frizz Free Hair

Many styling and heat protection products weigh down my hair and leave it looking frizzy. I find that this heat protecting spray helps to smooth my hair and drastically minimizes frizz which is a huge win. The product has a nice fresh salon scent. Good, but heavy for fine hair

I have naturally straight, fine hair and sometimes throughout the day I’ll get a small amount of frizz within my layers. This spray helped with the frizz, but if I applied too much, it weighed my hair down and made it stringy. After a few weeks, I haven’t noticed much of a difference in terms of the strength of my hair, but I’ll continue using to see if that improves, I’ll just be careful not to apply too much. If you have thicker hair, this may work well for you!

Helps with tangling SO much

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A fantastic product! I have very long bleached hair, causing it to frizz and tangle constantly. I've been using the Genesis Defense mostly at night time. I shower, towel dry my hair, lather my hair, and let it air dry over night. I wake up with shiny, tamed, and healthy feeling hair every single time. Still a few tangles, but nothing close to what I was dealing with before. The scent reminds me of a spa, or high end hair salon. I don't blow dry my hair often, but when I do I get the same instant results using this product. I received this product free from I fluster for my honest review. It is a little on the pricier side, so I don't think it will be a staple for me. But if you're looking to splurge- this would be a treat!

I sprayed two pumps into my hand and worked it into my wet hair before blow drying my hair. After blowing out my hair I had noticeably less frizz and more shine. I typically use the amika heat protectant but think I’ll be switching to this for blow drying my hair when wet and reserving that for styling my dry hair as a protectant. I haven’t tried this product yet as a leave in conditioner and letting my hair air dry but I imagine it was have similar results! Makes hair look super shiny & healthy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This heat protecting spray makes my hair incredibly shiny, lustrous, very smooth and well-conditioned. I didn't notice a significant difference in hair fall, but my hair isn't very damaged and I don't typically experience breakage from brushing. The scent is a clean, soapy floral. The frizz control is excellent when combined with hair mousse and curl cream. I have 3A hair, which typically frizzes no matter what, especially after diffusing. I experienced only a minimal amount of frizz when I used the spray asking with other products. I even tested it under extreme conditions (two hours outside in high heat and humidity) and only a little frizz peeked out on the top of my head. But I did see more frizz when I used the product with just leave-in conditioner. However, the amount was no worse than what I normally experience when using just a leave-in. Overall, this is not a product I would reach for if my sole goal was perfectly frizz-free hair. However, it is absolutely something I would (and will) use specifically for the incredible shine it provides, especially as part of a routine with other strong anti-frizz products. I imagine someone with straight or wavy hair that is less prone to frizz would love it even more.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Thermique protecting spray from Kerastase and Influenster in exchange for my honest review and I have to say that I am very impressed. My hair feels very silky after using it and very shiny. My scalp is very sensitive typically anything like this will give me some type of dandruff. And so far so good it works amazing.

Effective Heat Spray

Skeptical on effectiveness

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m still a little skeptical about this spray and if it even does anything. I haven’t noticed any drastic results. I use it on my wet hair before blow drying. The spray comes out like a straight line, it doesn’t spritz. It smells pretty strong like a clean powder scent. It’s very pleasant. I have noticed my hair is a bit less frizzy when I use, but overall don’t know if it’s worth the extra step/ product.

Overall good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I think this is good. It’s a pump spray which seems to spray somewhat evenly. It does have a strong different smell to it. Just reminds me of the salon but not bad enough to not make me use it. I applied it after my redken one United this last time, just to the middle to ends of my hair and I thought it made it extra smooth, not as frizzy which is good because it’s been humid here in Ohio. I would recommend and does work well just by itself.

Smoothing Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product has a pleasant smell, not chemical or weirdly floral and not over powering. After blow drying, my hair was much less frizzy, had less flyaways, and was shiny but didn’t look greasy. Other products that I’ve used have left it looking greasy so I much enjoyed this one.

Strong smell, questionable efficacy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very strong, salon- like scent. I also found it odd that it is a "thermal defense" product, but on the back of the bottle it says it's highly flammable. Overall, I'm not sure I fully understand how the ingredients (lots of alcohols) are supposed to protect your hair from breakage, it seems like it would be drying over time. Quite expensive for a product with questionable efficacy.

Great heat protector for my hair!

Smooth and soft hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have pretty thin hair and this product does not way it down. After I blow dry my hair after using this product as the best protectant my hair is very smooth and soft. I also noticed no increase in breakage. Smells nice and the packaging is nice and sleek which I appreciate because I hate bulky packaging. A lil pricey but a few sprays go a long way.

Great multitasker for traveling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I definitely put this product to the test. I have curly frizzy hair which is a pain even when I have all my products with me well...I happend to get it right before I went on vacation to Disney world long story short this ended up being the only products t available to me for the first 2 days! But it woek great, I sprayed it on and used a hairdryer to diffuse my hair and it kept the curls without making it frizzy. It lasted well, and even after a few splashes at Tiana's ride curls held up. It also smells great which is a plus when you are sweating walking in the heat. I would definitely recommend.

I expected more

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I appreciate Kerastace product quality and use several of their products. Thats why I expected a lot from its Genesis Defense Thermique Heat protecting Spray. I am a bit underwhelmed unfortunately. Scent is clean and fine. Hard to control the amount that comes out when sprayed and difficult to assess how much to use. Provides protection from heat styling but not sure it stands out from other high end products on the market ( Moroccanoil protect spray). A decent product but not sure it is worth the price tag.

Say goodbye to frizz and fly aways

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have very thick hair and need to apply heat to it when styling so damage is always a concern. This is the second Keratase product that I have tried that is a 10 out of 10. My hair which normally has breakaways after blow drying had none after using the spray. It didn’t feel too heavy when I sprayed on and the scent smells clean and fresh.

Good heat protectant!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the packaging on this - the bottle is sleek and feels more expensive than it actually is. The sprayer is good too - no clogs or anything yet. Scent is light and plays well with other shampoos/etc you may have in your hair already. Did a pretty good job on flyaways but I really want to use it more when it’s not so crazy humid - I don’t think anything could combat this heat right now haha all in all, good product!

Instant change in my hair health

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] An unbelievable change in my hair. I never have time to blow dry my hair these days as a mom of two, and my post partum hair is suffering. This spray gave my hair new life. My curl pattern instantly came back on my wet hair, and it made blow drying my hair so much easier.
