It’s like a spa for hair

Smells like baby powder; last all day!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rate: 9/10 I would’ve gave it a 10 but I need to see over time if I actually makes my hair thicker. I had some shedding which I assume is normal. The scent is incredible and it last all day. The product comes out like water but a bit thicker. It does leave your hands a bit sticky but I wasn’t too mad about it because it goes away really fast. I’m hoping that it does something down the line because I loved everything else about it.

Soft hair but feels heavy next day

It leaves a soft and shiny finish to my hair as well. I love that it contains rice water, which is amazing for hair health. I can see and feel how much more moisturized and thicker my hair is after using this. I like to use it after my shower when my hair is still damp, before styling as well. I apply it to my hair lengths and ends. It smells soooo amazing, it has notes of lemon, vanilla, bergamot and ylang ylang. Genuinely nourished and felt like my hair was thic

Sometimes I feel like my hair is thinner than I would like as well. I think this product genuinely felt like it nourished my hair and it felt thicker. For a woman that has always had thin, fine hair, I've searched the far corners of the world for high quality products that add volume without harsh side-effects or that weigh the hair down. It's taken years, but I've finally found a clear winner, and it's this serum. I understand the price point is a little high, but you don't need a lot of product to do an outstanding job. Too good to be true

This made my long, fine, highlighted hair tangle. I had to cut 2 knots out of the front right side because it tangled so bad in my wet brush. I just wrecked my layered hair cut. I had high hopes because I regularly use & love a different brand’s rice water shampoo & conditioner bars. I’m annoyed now.

Too much texture

I only used one pump of the thickening tonic in my long wet hair and it added so much texture and dryness that I could not work a comb or brush through any portion of my hair without damaging it. I thought maybe it was a mistake on my part so I tried it again after washing on wet hair and the same thing happened. For people trying to maintain or improve hair health with any amount of length I don’t Think this is the best product. I probably would have loved this when I had a pixie cut - has a similar feel and texture to using pomade or wax.

Not worth the price

First thing it is way too expensive for such a tiny amount. Haven't seen any result and the spray cap doesn't work, it just dribbles out. So you have to remove the cap and put some in your hand and rub it in your hair/scalp. Really!!

Game changer

This serum is a game changer. In just one use, my hair felt thicker, stronger, smoother and with more body. My hair was starting to become limp and thinner as I continued to double process. Izumi Serum

The first time I used the thickening serum I didn't feel a difference but the second use of the serum I did notice a difference. The scent of the serum isn't as nice as their shampoos and conditioner so it can take away from the existing pleasant scent one would have after using their other products. All in all a good product.

Fabulous gift idea!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, I have to address the directions. "Apply to dry hair lengths and tips"? WHAT! Why on earth would I dry my hair then apply this VERY watery serum? That obviously made no sense, so I did the only logical thing and applied it to damp, towel-dried hair. I tried it with and without the complementing shampoo/conditioner system to see how it worked and it seemed to behave just as well as using it with or without the whole system. It didn't seem to produce too much of a thicker, noticeable texture, but I did notice more softness and a lot of extra body. Much like the shampoo and the conditioner, I wouldn't purchase this on its own for myself because it just seems like a luxury purchase that doesn't really seem to justify the price point; however, this beautiful glass bottle of serum would be an absolute necessity in gifting the Izumi Tonic system to a wonderful woman in your life.

Smells amazing!

This serum does not weigh down my hair or leave it greasy. I apply the serum after I have shampoo and condition my hair, while it's damp I apply two pumps of serum to my hands and then evenly spread it to the ends of my hair and most of the bottom half. Non sticky Serum!

I followed the shampoo with the Izumi Tonic Mask conditioner and Izumi Tonic Serum to get the maximum benefits. The serum has helped repaired my damaged ends. This is the perfect final step in my hair care routine. I currently use the entire ilink Izumi Line and I could not be happier with the results. My hair is healthier and shinier than it has ever been and has grown almost 4" since starting these products. As far as the serum goes, it feels as though it seals the ends, and adds a great deal of shine. I wouldn't say it feels thicker at all, it's just smooth and soft. amazing packaging

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This packaging is so luxurious, it's in a heavy glass bottle. The product dispenses nicely. It says to apply to dry hair, which I have and I was worried about it weighing my hair down or looking greasy, but I did not have that problem. My only complaint with this whole line is the smell, the smell of this seems to linger more than the shampoo/conditioner.

Light serum that smooths and softens

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I had more time to accurately review this product given the length of the hair cycle. This is a lightweight serum that doesn't bog down my hair (vital in humid Florida!) while softening and smoothing yet. At this time I cannot speak to the other proposed benefits.

First time using a serum and I loved it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This serum was great for my thin, fine, damaged hair. The smell was pleasant and the serum felt good in my hair. It was easy to apply and felt light in my hair while conditioning at the same time. It also felt as though it gave my hair more texture/fullness. I've used leave in conditioners in the past, never a serum, and while they may have conditioned/repaired my hair they made my hair feel limp and weighed down. I also used the Izumi Tonic Shampoo and Izumi Tonic Mask conditioner to get the maximum benefits. My hair felt healthy and conditioned and also had more texture to it. My husband commented several times while I used these products (unbeknownst to him) that my hair looked good - thicker. This product was a surprising change from ones I've tried in the past. I will use these products again in the future and will definitely recommend it to others.

Really dries out my hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This, in combo with the shampoo and conditioner, made my hair super dry. I tried using it twice and both times my hair was left very brittle and dry. This was right after I got my hair cut too. It took several washes and deep conditioner to get it back to normal

Smells good

Gorgeous packaging

Keeps my hair smooth and defined all day!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This serum is easy to use, I simply apply it to my hair after washing and drying it, concentrating on the long strands and mainly ends. This is very smoothing and defining, making my hair look beautiful all day long until the next wash. My slightly wavy hair tends to turn frizzy quickly once it has dried and with this serum my waves have tons of natural looking definition! I love it and recommend this product. I received a complimentary sample for testing in return for my feedback and sharing my review.

Great, but there is learning curve

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have pixie short hair, so I felt there was a learning curve with this product. I feel like it's meant to smooth long hair. With my short hair, only a little was needed. The directions say to use on dry hair, but I used it on damp hair and it left my hair very soft yet it had some body and volume after blow-drying. I tried it on dry hair, and it just didn't work for me. I do love the smell and how it works with blow-drying and styling.

Great serum!

It's ok

This serum works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this serum! It makes my hair shiny and silky. My hair is more manageable. The serum is lightweight. Doesn't weigh my thin hair down at all. No sticky residue. Smells like a spa day. I only need a little bit. I focus on the ends to manage split ends. My hair has never looked better. Best to use with the shampoo and conditioner! Highly recommend. I will buy again! Sleek and modern packaging. Very pretty.

The best of the set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the shampoo, conditioner, and serum for product review. This serum swells the hair and improves thickness. Similar products I have tried accomplished this only by making my fine hair quite tangled, but this product leaves the strands soft and I am still able to run my hands through it. Despite the high price tag, I would consider purchasing this again as I feel it is a unique product for my hair type.

Works wonders and smells amazing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this serum in conjunction with the shampoo and the mask. It really thickened up and strengthened my hair. An added bonus is that it smells absolutely amazing! Sometimes hair products have instructions that can be confusing but these were easy to follow and easy to use. Over just a short period of time I noticed a difference. This serum truly felt like a luxury top-of-the-line product. Shu Uemura Art of Hair products are distinctly reliable and praise-worthy! I loved the lightness of the serum, too. It did not make me worry that it would cause my hair to look greasy. Instead, it blended nicely and complemented my hair.

It's very hydrating

Nice serum.

Works great!!

Amazing

When i eoke up the next mirning i thought i was going to have messy hair but to my surprise my hair looked like it was combed and to me it looked really nice and healthy and with more bounce to it

Great styling product that smells great and helps

Great quality!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] izumi tonic thickening serum This is a high quality product. this product has helped smooth my flyaways. I also see less breakage in my second week of using this product. I have noticed a slight thickness in my hair. The only thing I disliked was that my hair did get a little oily when applied, but im still excited to see my hair a few weeks from now. this product along with the shampoo and mask of the same product line has left my hair hydrated ,shiny and less breakage. My hair looks and feels amazing!

I really like this product so far

The scent is supposed to be fresh, but to me it almost had a little bit of a baby powder smell, which I'm not crazy about. I look forward to seeing how this product helps my hair with continued use!

Super soft hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked the benefits of this product. I switched to this for a while and my hair feels healthy. This product has been very helpful since having cut my hair. It makes my hair more manageable. I do not like the smell however. It smells to me like baby powder and very strong rose scent. If it smelt more like coconut or basically anything not rose I would have given this a 5 star.
