Poor Replacement for Shape Paste
The product feels tacky and heavy. It lacks the subtly and elegance of Shape Paste. Shape paste would hold my style but I could still run my hand through my hair. This leaves my hair feeling gross. Once again L'Oreal has managed to take a great brand and muck it up. Such a shame.

Poor replacement
I have been using sculpt paste for about 6 years and it was the best find. This replacement is a fluffed version (the other was compact) and it doesn’t behave the same. Disappointing to change a great product and get a lesser result.

The sculpt putty was much better
I have used the sculpt putty that this product replaces for 10 years and am heartbroken with this product which is different and doesn’t have the same magic effect on my short hair. Bring back sculpt putty! Why get rid of your loyal customers?

I love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I definitely recommend this to anyone with short hair that needs a product for styling. The smell is fresh and honestly not a men's smell or a female smell. So that is a plus for someone who might be concerned about that. It is a white paste, and a little goes a long way. I applied onto damp hair, starting with small amounts of paste to work with and evenly distributed throughout. Once I got the hold I was comfortable with I combed through and my son's hair was so tamed, I was shocked. Usually, I have to use a few products to achieve that 'not a hair out of place look'. I styled his hair at 8am for school and he went the whole day with it looking great. About 5pm some hair fell out of place from playing and what not and while we were heading out I combed my fingers through his hair and his hair went right back into his style I had put it into before. What I really love about the Ishi sculpt paste is the amount of control it has without being greasy, flaky, hard, or crusty. It creates a very workable texture. I also applied onto dry hair to play with the product a bit and smoothed the paste into my hands with a bit of water which made for a controlled look that wasn't as dapper as the first style but still a very nice casual look. Again, great control and lasted a long time. I will be buying this product now for my boys it is worth it and you won't regret it.

Usually I use a curling wand to create loose beachy waves, then spray in a texturizing spray and take a dime size amount of the Ishi Sculpt Pomade and emulsify it in my hands, then flip my head upside down and scrunch it in. With whatever is left on my hands, I run them through the ends of my hair to add a little separation. I love that this pomade leaves a matte finish and does not make my hair feel goopy. It also doesn't cause my hair to tangle which I have experience before with different pomades. I cannot wait to try more Shu Uemura products. I am a product junkie when it comes to hair, makeup, and skincare, so this was a great addition to my collection, and I use it frequently.

Let me start by saying it smells really good, it is not greasy in my opinion and super easy to apply (just bear in mind that you have to get your hands wet before applying it to glide it easily and Evenly) I also make sure I comb it a bit to prevent the whiteness from staying on. It dries Matte and it has the perfect hold for hours. My only complaint is that the pomade itself is really small. Other than that it is a golden product to style the hair.

This product is lightly, pleasantly scented, has no chemical scent at all. It works on wet or dry hair equally well, and lasts well over six hours! It does not dull your hair or make it too shiny...it has a matte finish.
If you are not familiar with hair pomades, this should be your go to product, simple to use, easy to wear! What more do you need?
I highly recommend this product, and you better believe I am going right to the store to buy this again and again!

Pretty decent but a little pricey~

My curls/waves stayed looking nice, the finish is a nice Demi-matte/satin, and it keeps the frizz down well. The only things I don't care for is the feel and the price. My current products don't make my hair feel different if not softer where as this pomade feels like my hair has a coating on it. Also my current products are much cheaper.

Not just for men

I have three kids with mixed hair and I have long Indian hair and I love this product for various uses. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking for something to keep my flyaway baby hairs down in the front and top of my hair when I wear my hair in a bun or braid, and this is it. I like to use it by putting a little on my fingertips, rubbing my hands together then smoothing my palms over my hair. It looks white if I don't comb it down, so I make sure I do that before I leave, otherwise, I'd be walking around with white hair from the product. It gives me an all-day hold and the baby hairs stay down!

GREAT HAIR POMADE!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love stying my hair with my Shu Uemura Ishi Sculpt Hair Pomade, It leaves my wavy hair frizz free with long lasting curls. I feel my hair more manegable and soft, It's definitely the best hair product I have used. I love that my husband also uses it for his slick hair styles that lasts long time. I highly recommend for everyone to try.

Hair Pomade
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] (I recieved this pomade free through bzzagent for review purposes) This pomade is amazing ! It helped to lock in my waves & lasted all day. It defined and held my waves so well I was really impressed by this pomade. A little goes a long with with this product too so itll last a long time! Definitely reccomend it it especially to those who style their hair and want a nice long hold.

Not enough hold
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to use the Shu Uemura Ishi Sculpt Hair Pomade because I've had great experiences with this brand in the past. Unfortunately, this didn't give enough hold for me to want to purchase it. I use similar products regularly to help hold my heat styles, but this didn't give any hold at all. I do have thick hair, but I was hoping that this would provide a decent hold that would still allow for movement in the hair. It didn't add enough texture or definition for me.

Great Pomade
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like using this pomade for when I'm air drying my hair and braiding my hair. I use the pomade in sections of of my hair and it looks great once it drys especially with braids staying in place.

Holds hair but isn't sticky!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Shu Uemura Ishi Sculpt Hair Pomade is a great addition to any hair styling routine. It holds your hairstyle for hours but doesn't make your hair crunchy and hard. I think it is easy to apply which is also nice!

Shu Uemura Ishi sculpt pomade Rocks!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried many pomades on my hair but Shu Uemura's Ishi hair pomade is definitely a product that i will be using regularly. I was very excited to receive and try this product. It has a light texture to it and is not heavy at all. this pomade is wonderful as it does not leave any residue or flakes after hours of wear.
It does a wonderful job of hold my style in place through the day and helps to manage any small hairs that are unruly.
This is definitely the best pomade out on the market!

Great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product a couple weeks ago and I have tried it out a few different times, I love this product a lot. It works really good and made my hair look so great. I even tried it on my son's hair, it made his hair look so good too. The product was easy to use and manage through my hair. The product wasn't oily or slime and was very easy to wash out.

Decent pomade
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a fairly good pomade. It smooths away frizz without making hair look greasy. I wasn't a big fan of the gel like texture. It was kind of hard to scoop out. Other than that, it works perfectly.

The best!

Smells fabulous and really holds my hair however I want. I immediately threw out my other product as it was so inferior.

Pretty good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pomade is pretty good - I like that it is unisex so my husband can use it too. It has a mild scent which I could do without, but once it's on your hair you can't smell it too much. It's not too sticky and adds texture to my otherwise pretty flat hair. I don't think it's worth the high price tag and wouldn't recommend it unless it was on sale.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried other products like this before.However, This product lasts longer and holds better on my hair then the other brands I had used in the past 12 months. One of the things that I benefit from this is that it keeps my hair in place all day. In don't leave my hair feeling sticky and doesn't leave my hair with white flakes. In it gives my hair style an amazing slicked-back look with a shine and finish look every week. I also like that I can use this on my wet and dry hair. It has a great light scent. I will buy more of this product.

A great hair styling product

The Best Product!

I have tried a countless amount of different related products ranging anywhere from $3 to $50, but this is BY FAR the greatest. This is the best product of its kind in every way, shape, and form. I have thick, wavy hair that is extremely difficult to manage.
It's a good strong sculpting paste with workable texture, matte finish.
Creates piecey looks,Gives hair a matte finish while adding subtle shine & long-lasting,not crunchy hold.
Just apply on damp or dry hair for a sculpted and structured style.
I love this stuff, tamed my mane and goes away when I want it to.

I loved trying this product it is fun to use it will sculpt many different hair styles and it smells really good, and it is not sticky and it doesnt weigh your hair down, and last ishi washes out easily and doesnt leave residue in your hair

Very Thick Boi
