Mode d'emploi

Too Drying for Fine Hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I made an error purchasing this product. I had previously ordered and tried a sample of Argile Equilibrante and liked it very much. The green packaging color of Specifique Divalent Balancing Shampoo is similar to the Argile Equilibrante, so it is an easy error to make. In addition, it seems that the Argile Equilibrante has been discontinued. I used the Specifique Divalent Balancing Shampoo one time and it made my hair dry, lifeless, and frizzy. I gave the bottle to my boyfriend and he had the same experience. We had to throw it away (an expensive mistake!).

Actually fixed my scalp after YEARS of flakes

Okay, listen. I’ve had “dandruff” since middle school — white flakes, itchy scalp, gross buildup, had to wash daily or it looked awful. Turns out it was oil the whole time, not dryness. Every “moisturizing” curly shampoo just made it worse. I started using Bain Divalent with the Lait Vital conditioner and it completely flipped my hair in like two washes. My curls are fine-to-medium, dense, and frizz-prone — used to look dry and dead no matter what. This shampoo legit balanced everything out. My scalp’s clean, not tight or irritated, and I can actually go every other day without looking like a snow globe. No flakes on my clothes, no grease, just soft defined curls again. If you think you have dandruff but your scalp gets worse with “moisturizing” stuff, this is the one you need. Don’t overthink it. Worth every cent.

HOLY GRAIL. Can I name other brands? I’ve used Olaplex, Oribe, Living Proof and other luxury brands—none were moisturizing enough for my straight, medium-textured, colored (naturally grey) hair, and I struggled with frizz (I generally air dry). THIS STUFF IS GREAT. It leaves my hair soft, frizz-free, and nice-smelling. It doesn’t strip the color. I’m thrilled!!!!

Didn't work for me

I've been using Kerastase Chronologiste hair lotion for a long time, but since getting highlights in my hair I wanted to upgrade my shampoo and get Kerastase one. Unfortunately this didn't work for me, for some reason it made my hair heavier (especially on top and back of head). First I thought it might be because I don't wash off properly, but soon realized it is just too heavy for my hair to handle. I kept it but will no longer purchase, I will think about switching to another shampoo from Kerastase.

Love the Chroma Absolu shampoo and conditioner. I’ve been using it for three years now. I get it at my salon in Manhattan. My hair is medium weight and they gave me the Bain Riche Chroma Respect for medium to thick hair. I was running out so, got another bottle. This time they gave me the Bain Chroma Respect for fine to medium hair. Both work great on my hair, which was a surprise. I like the creamy formula and follow with matching conditioner. I also use their leave in. My hair stays nice for a week as I wash my hair once a week. It lasts me a nice amount of time. I’ve used just about every salon brand and drug store brand there is. This is by far the best shampoo I’ve ever used, and like it’s sulfate free. It keeps my auburn color nice and vibrant.

Good clean fun

A little goes a long way

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair get so oily so quickly and I feel like I've tried everything. This product works well, my hair still does get oily on day 2 but it looks and feels better. It doesnt feel weighed down at all, which is also a challenge for my fine hair. I also double cleanse when I wash my hair and one pump is enough to do my whole scalp each time, and I have very long hair. Expensive overall but it definitely lasts longer than others I've tried.

Kerastase Shampoo

Kérastase shampoo transformed my hair. The fragrance is luxurious without being overpowering, and the way it lathers makes washing feel like a salon experience at home. Every time I use it, I feel like I’m truly treating my hair to something special. That said, I do wish it were a little more affordable. The results are undeniably amazing, but the price can make it difficult to use as consistently as I’d like. It’s such a wonderful product that I find myself trying to stretch each bottle as long as possible! Overall, though, Kérastase is unmatched in quality, and I’ll continue to reach for it when I want the very best for my hair.

Amazing

I bought this for my husband. He has a very greasy scalp with dry ends. This has helped a lot without over drying his hair. His scalp used to get extremely itchy because of the grease and this has controlled it.

However, after getting a keratin treatment, my hair became oily again. I plan to try a scalp scrub to see if it helps, in addition to using this shampoo.

Perfect for sensitive scalps

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this shampoo at least once a week in addition to other collections (mostly Genesis). Adding it to my rotation has significantly reduced my scalp sensitivity and itchiness that I get with “regular” shampoos. It’s different than others I’ve tried before in that it doesn’t dry my ends (I have medium-thick wavy hair). Though I prefer using it along with other lines, it also keeps my hair soft by itself in times I’ve used it alone for weeks. It’s definitely become a staple for my routine!
