Great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to use hair mousse. Shake and spray on hand then comb through hair a few times and that’s it. The ends of my hair tends to go in all directions and this helps them stay together. I have lots of hair o can’t comment on volumizing but it does a great job as a mousse. And doesn’t smell super strong!

Not good for frizzy curls

Adds volume - mom hack!

Strong Hold & Less Frizz

Love it 😍

It is one of my favorite quick styling options when I am in a rush but still want my hair to look put together. This mousse surprised me in the best way. The scent is really приятный and not overpowering, and the texture is lightweight and not sticky at all. It adds volume almost instantly, especially at the roots, while still keeping the curls defined and soft. What I really noticed is how well it holds the structure. My curls stay separated, each strand keeps its shape, and the hair still feels movable and natural. I even had a meeting today and got caught in the rain, but my hairstyle stayed in place. The photo I took was after the rain, and my curls still looked defined, fresh, and beautiful. This is definitely a go to product for effortless, natural looking curls with volume and hold.

Wonderful Mousse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mousse is great! It is creamy and lightweight, and doesn’t leave any sticky residue on my hair or skin. It has a faint chemical scent that I don’t enjoy, but it fades quickly enough to not bother me. It dispenses easily from the bottle and has a “cloud-like” texture that I love. It absorbs into my hair easily and gives me natural volume and shine. It does become a bit stiff at my roots, but overall it’s wonderful and easy to use.

Love Shue Uemara products!

For soft not crunchy curls

It actually last until the next day if you add a bit of water. It did not have a chemical smell. A little goes a long way. There was not sticky residue on the hands that’s a win.

Beautiful hair!

The ShuUemhra volume hair mousse is compact, good for travel, and is easy to use. I use it to style my hair when I go out and am very happy about it. I have Asian hair so it’s a blessing but also a curse. The hair is too straight and I have tons of baby hair sticking out. Hair oils don’t help, but these do. Very simple: take a small amount (or generous - up to you) and apply on your hair however you want to style it. You can use your comb to help you style before you apply the product, I recommend it. It’s pretty lightweight too, and create good shine for the hair so you shouldn’t worry much about it. I highly recommend

This was my first experience with ShuUemura products, and now I’m a fan! My hair didn’t have that crunchy feeling after, which was a huge plus. My hair is fine, so I was worried it would look oily, but it looked fine. There was some volume (which my hair typically lacks), but it was flat by the end of the night. Overall I will be using this product and I do recommend it!

Helps with frizz

My hair is in between wavy and curly. I love applying this once I get out the shower onto my damp hair and kind of just scrunch it. It defines my waves/curls a bit more. I like that it doesn’t leave my hair feeling and looking stiff. It also helps reduce my frizz especially with the weather warming up. A little goes a long ways. It is also easy to wash out.

Great everyday volume

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gave some oompf to my normally limp flat hair. I have very fine straight hair that gets weighed down easily and tends to immediately look greasy with most products, so I typical avoid using anything like this. So when I tried this mousse I didn't expect to be impressed with the results, but I was pleasantly surprised! It gave my hair noticeable volume and bounce. And like many of the other reviews, I found it wasn't sticky and didn't make my hair feel crunchy. The scent was pleasant and very light. I took off one star because I think the price point is a bit high for this type of hair product, but otherwise it's a great mousse that I would recommend to anyone with fine hair.

Interesting product

Not sticky or crunchy

I really stayed away from Mousse after I realized the "crunchy" fake curl look wasn't for me so was very wary of trying it again. Awa has totally changed my view on what mousse is and how it can be used. I used the product after washing my hair and even during days where I let my hair air dry, there was zero crunch! I could run my hands through my hair without getting a sticky film all over. Once dry, (natural or styled) I loved the volume it gave me and how easy it was to still style my hair. I'm definitely going to use this mousse instead of the thick goopy hair creams that I thought were better for my style.

Worth it!

Good for fine hair

Love the Volume

I am fully aware that my hair is not at its healthiest because of the color processes it's been through. That being said I felt that this mousse dried my hair out so so much to the point thay it was really hard to brush and blow dry after applying it. I usually apply mousse to towel dried hair after I have untangled it. Then I just blow dry with a diffuser or a nozzle depending on what I'm going for. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars because it smells great, it definitely adds lots of volume and body but had it not dried my hair out so much I'd give it 5 stars. I'm guessing it did that to my hair because it was already damaged going in. So I'm hoping that for those of you who have healthy hair this will work better.

Good for Daily Lift

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have straight fine hair and lately I've been trying to wear it as straight bouncy hair. This mousse helped me to achieve that look. It gives lift at the roots while holding my style in place. It has a light citrus scent that kind of reminds me of a yuzu lotion that I loved in college. The only complaint I have is that it does require a smoothing cream at the roots to prevent fly-aways, but that just may be because I'm of the regional humidity.

Great for flat hair!

My hair is on the thinner side even though I have a lot of hair on my head and it also has no volume. I wasn't expecting much from the Awa volume hair mousse but I was impressed by the results. It's very easy to use; you simply apply it to your roots while it's still damp and then blow-dry your hair preferably upside down. This gave my roots a great amount of volume. It did not make my hair feel sticky or crunchy like other products have in the past. It also has a nice pleasant light scent to it. I will definitely be keeping this on hand for weekly use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After about 3-4 weeks of using the Awa Volume Mousse, here are my thoughts. Pros: It does add volume and makes my hair look fuller. It also holds my style for the entire day. I have been using less hairspray and find that I can go an extra day between shampoos. Cons: The mousse does not really have a smell. I like when my hair products have a nice smell. This one just smells like the chemicals that are in it. Also, if I use too much in one spot, that spot can be sticky. Overall, it is a good product but needs a few tweaks.

Volume Without the Sticky Mess

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awa Volume Hair Mousse surpassed my expectations. The container was easy to hold and use. The mousse had a foamy texture easily dispersed. I did not experience any normal negative effects of mousse from Awa such as stickiness, stiffness, or oiliness. I even got compliments on my hair the very first time I used it. I would definitely recommend Awa Volume Hair Mousse for those with flat locks.

Great for fine hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a long, wavy fine hair. I typically avoid using hair mousses and I've tried several brands prior to trying this one. Shu Uemura Awa Volume hair mousse is a total game-changer. Despite the fact that it's a hair mousse, it behaves unlike any other mousse I've tried over the years. It disperses like a typical mousse and creates a large ball of foam. Then I apply it to my damp roots (using it on dry hair is good too) to add volume as per instructions. The mousse has a slight scent that dissipates upon the application. I don't notice any scent on my hair throughout the day. The mousse gets completely absorbed by my hair and it doesn't feel sticky when my hair is wet or when it's completely dry. I use a large round brush to blow dry to add the volume. My brush glides easily through my hair strands. After I'm done blow drying, my hair looks naturally voluminous and bouncy. The mousse gives a natural volume, one would never know that I used a styling product to add the volume. My hair feels natural and clean, when I run my fingers through it. I really like that it gives me such a natural effect without weighing my hair down. There's absolutely no "crunchiness" to my hair either. I highly recommend this mousse if you are looking for a natural, subtle volume.

Wonderful, volumizing mousse!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've loved using the Awa Volume Mousse by Shu Uemura. I have very fine hair and it really gave my hair more volume and bounce, without the crunchy results that I get from most mousses. This is a big change for me. My hair looks so shiny too! It's easier to style, and has more hold, on top of that. That is important with fine hair. It's perfect for all hair textures and works well with fine to medium thickness hair. The bottle is sleek and the product looks high end. The scent is wonderful! It could be a perfume in itself. I'd call it a floral scent. Would recommend!

Great Lift!

Some positives, but not quite as great as I wanted

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am 51 and my hair is very fine, straight, and it has been thinning significantly, so I wanted to try this product to see if it could give my hair some added volume. The Awa Volume Hair Mousse is not the best mousse I've ever tried, and not the worst either. Here are some positives and negatives: Positives: Spreads easily and evenly throughout the hair and you just need a little bit of product. This leaves my hair soft, smooth, and easy to style with a round brush and hair dryer. Once styled, my lightly layered hair moves really well and does not feel stiff. This mousse helped create a slight bend in my ends with a round brush and hair dryer and the soft style lasted all day. Minuses: I didn't love the scent of this mousse, but I didn't hate it either; the scent seeemed to dissipate soon after I styled my hair, so if you love scented hair this might not be the mousse for you. This mousse added some volume at the roots, but not as much as I would have liked. This mousse seemed to dull the natural highlights in my hair. I would have liked a little more shine. So, all in all, I think I'll keep looking for a better product that gives more volume and has a more scent, but go ahead and give this a try if you want hair that is easy to style and stays soft and smooth all day.

True Volume

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have thin hair, and I usually just wear it up for my job. I have tried other volumizing hair products and i never had much success with them. I followed the instructions, applied it to the roots of the hair and blew dry with a round brush to help the volume. It worked pretty good and it lasted most of the day. It had a pleasant smell, my hair didn't feel sticky or tacky. I believe this is something I will continue to use when I style my hair.

Decent volume

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used several volumizing products over the years as I have fairly fine, limp hair. This mousse is on par with most others. It doesn't have much of a smell to it which is nice if you don't like the heavily scented products. It gives more volume than not using any product but don't expect big hair. I liked that it was not sticky and did not get crunchy when it dried.

Lightweight volume

Love this mousse!

Pump up the volume

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mousse works amazingly well on my fine, thin hair at providing the volume that I so desperately need. I'm impressed that it doesn't leave my hair crunchy and stiff like most mousse that I've tried in the past. It actually makes my hair soft and it smells amazing. I highly recommend giving it a try.

Best mousse for volume I've tried

Great Mousse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have really long, straight hair that doesn't hold waves or curls easily. After my hair has air dried a bit, I use this mousse before I braid my hair to give my hair some texture and extend the life of my waves. This mousse is not sticky and smells great. Would recommend!

Love this hair mouse

Adds volume without crunchiness

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Awa Volume Mousse from Shu Uemura is a quick and convenient mousse to hold my style all day long and to add volume to my hair. I use it on clean damp hair. I just spray a bit on my hands and work it through my damp hair from top to bottom. It really keeps my wavy hair in place and keeps my frizz under control and adds a nice volume to it. It feels nice and soft on my hair and does not make my hair look greasy. What I really like is that it does not make my hair crunchy. It looks very natural. I just love the scent of this mousse. Very natural and not too overpowering. It does not make my hair feel heavy and it is very easy to brush it out at the end of the day. I highly recommend this mousse!

Lightweight & Not Sticky

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received this mousse to try and review. The first thing that stood out was that is was not sticky. It also did not have an overwhelming scent which I liked. I used it on my damp hair and I was able to easily comb it afterwards. On a few occasions I let my hair 'air dry' and other times I used a blower dryer. Both times, my hair was not sticky and I could easily style it. It also helped reduce my 'fly a-ways'. It feels very light on your hair, almost like it is not there. My other mousse is quite heavy and has a strong scent. That is why I enjoy using this one over my old brand.

Amazing

Awesome Mousse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this Shu Uemura Awa Volume Hair Mousse! It is awesome! First, this mouse smells fantastic! I LOVE the scent! Second, it isn't sticky and goes on evenly and leaves my hair smelling great and looking great! I have naturally curly hair and it helps keep my hair from getting frizzy. It holds my curls and adds volume to my very fine hair. Other mousse products I have tried left my hair sticky and weighed it down. This one does not. I will definitely be using this mousse again! I love it!

Great overall hair mousse
